As a Design Fellow selected by the New York Hall of Science,I commuted into the city for a week (8 am to 4 pm)and learned how to incorporate engineering design & technology into my curriculum from experts at the museum. The reason I applied for this program is because a major emphasis is placed on engineering & technology in the Next Generation Science Standards due to be released in January. The knowledge I gained will help me provide opportunities for my students to solve meaningful problems & deepen their understanding by applying their science knowledge in different contexts.

I also completed twenty-five hours of technology related professional development to learn the latest resources available such as Discovery Education's online science textbook, iphone & ipad in the classroom. I created my own website & wiki for my classroom. This was my personal professional development, beyond what is mandated by my district.
