These daylong meetings are designed to help active NYSTRS members age 45 and older prepare for retirement. During the course of the day, discussions are devoted to: System benefits, legal affairs, adjusting to retirement, Social Security, and other pertinent topics. Please note these seminars are not designed for one-on-one counseling. Because of the large number of teachers eligible for retirement, these NYSTRS seminars close out early on Long Island. If you are interested in attending one of these seminars, please cal for a reservation as soon as possible. All seminars are held 8:30 am to 3:00 pm with registration from 8 am to 8:30 am. There is no fee to attend, but you must register in advance.
LI-Melville: Melville Marriott – 1350 Old Walt Whitman Rd., exit 49N, LIE – December 14th, Friday
Hauppauge: Islandia Marriott L.I. – Exit 58, LIE – November 9th, Friday
L.I. Ronkonkoma: Courtyard by Marriott – 5000 Express Drive South – November 16th, Friday
L.I. Uniondale: L.I. Marriott – 101 James Doolittle Blvd. – October 26th, Friday; or November 10th, Saturday
***To secure a reservation, call 800-356-3128, extension 6180 between 8:30 and 4:15. When calling, provide your SSN or Employee ID, date of birth, home address, and home telephone. Also indicate if your spouse is attending. If so and s/he is also a member, provide the above information for him or her as well. We will provide you with a confirmation and directions to the meeting. Please bring this material with you to the seminar, along with photo identification and your most recent Benefit Profile. If for some reason you are unable to attend please notify us in advance.
