We’ve all heard a lot in the past few years about the teacher shortage — and though groups like the Learning Policy Institute have made some substantive recommendations on attracting and retaining a new generation of teachers, you rarely hear about them from the pundits and pontificators. For my part, when I picture the next generation of teachers, I can’t help but picture them as future colleagues too. And when I think about how we can bring them into the profession, I think back to what drew me to teaching.
