Don’t be fooled by Betsy DeVos and her anti-union friends. Last week, they launched a $10 million campaign to break our union. In the days since the Supreme Court issued its ruling in the Janus case, teachers across New York have received emails from the Mackinac Center trying to trick them into leaving their union.

If they think you are going to be fooled by their spam, they have another thing coming.

We knew this would happen, we know who they are, and we know what they want. As the Journal News reported, Betsy DeVos and her family have been among the biggest donors to the Mackinac Center. Her family has given more than $1.4 million to the Mackinac Center, and her husband even served on its Board of Directors.

Their mission is clear: They want to weaken our union, undercut our ability to negotiate for better pay and good benefits, erode our working conditions, and rob us of our voice in the workplace.  We are not going to let that happen.

Say “NO!” to Betsy DeVos and “YES!” to your union.

If you get their email, tell your local president, mark it as spam and then delete it.

Then visit to find out what you can do to spread the word and defend our union.

In solidarity,

Andrew Pallotta
